Clavering Loyal Orange Lodge No. 1322 received its warrant on July 20th, 1871. William Shouldice was the first Worshipful Master of the Lodge.

The Twelfth in Mount Horeb Wiarton Echo, 1882 The Twelfth of July was celebrated at Mount Horeb with more than usual eclat. At 8 a.m., the lodge met at their hall, and under the direction of Mr. Robert Burbee, Master, they formed in procession and marched to Clavering. The members were uniformed in scarlet jackets and presented a very creditable appearance. Returning to their hall, the company adjourned to a grove nearby, and partook of the excellent dinner provided for the occasion. At 3 p.m., Mr. Burbee took the chair and Rev. T. Legatt, Canada Methodist Minister, Hepworth, delivered a very eloquent and impressive address, which received marked attention and elicited enthusiastic applause from all present. Music by a fife and drum and string band enlivened the proceedings. The day was heartily enjoyed by all present and will be long pleasantly remembered. Prior to building Clavering United Church, the lodge was moved from Mount Horeb Church to the Ottewell settlement in Amabel Township. |
The lodge was declared dormant at the end of 1968. Robert Cutting of Zion was the Worshipful Master and the Recording Secretary was Thomas Smith of Clavering.
