Uxbridge Loyal Orange Lodge No. 583

This elaborate arch was part of the decorations erected on Brock St. for this Uxbridge celebration in 1902. The parade was organized by the Loyal Orange Lodge and as the signage indicates, it was attended by a number of different organizations from across the province. The buildings were decorated in bunting and flags and in the picture below a band leads the parade down the street (Port Perry/Scugog Township Heritage Gallery).
As was normal for events such as these, men and women were dressed in their finest for the parade which is seen coming east along Brock St. (Port Perry/Scugog Township Heritage Gallery).
